How To Keep Your Vinyl Siding Looking New
Replacing your siding is a big project and a big investment, therefore you want to take care of your investment and make it last as long as you possibly can. The good news is that once you have replaced your siding with vinyl siding, you won’t have to worry about replacing it again for a LONG time. But if you want to make sure that your siding lasts for decades to come, you need to put in a bit of maintenance.
- Do a little bit of cleaning: Get that bucket and rag out and wipe down the dirt and grime. While you can do this during your spring cleaning, we recommend that you do it as much as you can so that the dirt does not get stuck and gets harder to take off.
- Watch out for what may harm your siding: Be wary of sports where kids would be throwing balls at the siding, be careful with your lawnmower, and any flammables or pesticides. Think about what you are putting close to your siding.
- Just like cleaning it, inspect it: Before you begin cleaning it look for cracks and breaks. Having cracks or breaks could leave your siding exposed to moisture which could lead to mold growth.
Vinyl siding is very low-maintenance, so just switching to it will make your life much easier. And while it will last a long time, if you clean it, inspect it, and are very careful with what you put against it you should have a beautiful siding for a very long time!
