The Lifetime of Vinyl Siding

We recommend vinyl siding for any home. It can improve the curb appeal and it takes minimal maintenance to upkeep. But, one of the biggest questions we get in regards to vinyl is, “how long will my vinyl siding last?” We’re here to answer that for you!

A lot of homeowners get discouraged by their vinyl siding because it may start to look a little worn down before it actually is. Vinyl can get very dirty, sun can fade it and mold and mildew may grow on it. But, vinyl can be cleaned, painted and maintained.

Vinyl siding is made by manufacturers to last for a very long time. There is some vinyl siding that can last between 20 and 40 years, like it should. It is very strong, resistant to weather and can handle the external elements. Other vinyl, however, may require a replacement in 10 to 15, if it is exposed to extreme weather or temperatures. Check out the new Board and Batten options, Shake Siding options and even wider plank siding that looks like hardiboard (comes with a $$$). There are many options now that make your home modern.

In general, you should have your vinyl inspected by a professional annually, in order to detect and signs of wear and tear. If you do need your vinyl replaced, you should call Culpeper Window & Siding, Inc. Give us a call 540-547-9100! @culpeperws @bestsidingcontractorva
